How to Get Rid of Belly Fat
Getting rid of belly fat is something that almost everyone who isn’t a fitness model will think about at some point in their lives. What many people don’t understand is that there is no real way to specifically target fat on any one area of the body. The only way to get rid of belly fat is to somehow get the body to burn fat from all over the body. When someone loses weight, you will notice the difference in their face, arms, chest, legs and all over their body including but not limited to the stomach.
Why Whey
You have probably heard it a million times but the most natural way to lose fat anywhere is through proper diet and regular exercise. Part of having a diet that will help the body boost metabolism and burn extra body fat is by eating a high protein diet. But not all protein are created equal and many studies have shown that whey protein provides significantly more benefits than other types of similar protein sources. For people looking to lose weight, gain muscle, or simply looking to get rid of belly fat, a high protein diet is a very effective strategy when combined with an exercise routine. There are many things you can do with whey protein to incorporate into your regular diet by using it in solid food or by creating post workout or pre workout shakes.
Whey Protein Shakes
There is really no limit when it comes to making a delicious protein shake. Pretty much throw in any type of fruit or other ingredients that you desire with milk and a scoop or two of protein powder, mix in a blender and enjoy. Half the fun of consuming a whey protein shake is experimenting and coming up with something new and delicious that will also feed your muscles and burn fat. Here are some of my personal favorites, keep in mind I like simple things and don’t keep a lot of ingredients around the house.
Chocolate Mixed Berries
- 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
- 8 – 10 oz soy, skim or regular milk
- A handful of frozen mixed berries
Banana and Berries
- A lot of ice, maybe two handfuls
- 1 scoop of whey protein powder (chocolate or vanilla flavored depending on the mood)
- 1 banana
- A handful of strawberries
- 1 cup of plain yogurt
Strawberry Nut
- 2 Scoops of Vanilla protein powder
- 1 cup of fat-free strawberry yogurt
- 6 shredded macadamia nuts
Banana Almond
- 1 Banana
- 12 Cup Milk
- 10 Almonds
- 1 scoop Protein powder
- 5 Ice Cubes
Another great thing about experimenting with your own shake is that you can blend it to your desired consistency. Many of these shakes are great replacements for dessert. By consuming protein instead of sugar you can expect to visibly get rid of belly fat a lot faster than if you had regular sugar packed desserts.
Whey Protein in Solid Food
This may be even easier than making a shake because you can throw a scoop of whey protein into almost any type of solid food. Some people actually make their own protein bars and you can find those recipes online. An easy and popular breakfast is mixing a scoop of protein powder into oatmeal in the morning.
